HISTORY
Damagro Farms originally started in 2006 as one of the premier baby’s breath growers in Ecuador. Since then, we have expanded our product line to include a wide variety of summer and novelty flowers. Damagro currently produces over 50 hectares of cut flowers 12 months a year. In addition to our everyday bulk packs, we offer a complete line of consumer bunches, mixed boxes and bouquets. Damagro is one of the few companies in Ecuador that offers a complete selection of everyday, seasonal, and holiday bouquets. Our 15,000 square foot refrigerated production facility gives us the economies of scale to take on orders for the mass market industry.
Our grower outreach program allows small scale flower growers access to micro-finance, technical assistance and economies of scale. We mentor a handfull of small boutique flowers growers who deliver daily fresh picked flowers in buckets to our cold room consolidation facility. When the flowers arrive, our expert flowers handlers inspect the quality, grade the product, and package it according to our customer’s specifications.
SUSTAINABILITY
Damagro takes a proactive stand on protecting the environment and our workers. In 2016 we were awarded the prestigous Rainforest Alliance certification for socially and environmentally responsible growing. http://www.rainforest-alliance.org The Rainforest Alliance standard protects ecosystems and wildlife habitats, conserves water and soil, and promotes decent and safe working conditions. Our workers receive genuine extra benefits such as breakfast, lunch, medical check ups, free transportation, periodic dental care, further educational opportunities, and sports clubs.
