Dianthus
Native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. The sweet William is a traditional cottage garden perennial, coming in a range of flower colours and forms. Dianthus “Green Ball” produces unusual green globes of soft, deeply cut petals. It makes an unusual cut flower, its strong stems and large flower heads lasting for several weeks in water. Sweet William is a favourite name for lovelorn young men in English folkloric ballads
